These were taken during a typhoon in South China Seas 1967. Moments after each picture the ships was covered in green water. Kinda like the atlantic on a normal day.

Left is a picture taken in 1949 somewhere in the Atlantic on an average day for that ocean. Just forward of torpedo tubes amidship looking on port side aft. Note starboard motor whaleboat looks as if ready for a rescue launch. Photo sent in by MC Howard.
