HMS Victory was Admiral Nelsons flagship at the battle of Trafalger where he defeated the Spanish Armada in 1805. Admiral Nelson recieved fatal wounds during the battle from a snipers bullet. This ship, beautifully preserved in Portsmouth, Englan. Launched in 1765, it had 104 guns and served until 1812 and then preserved at Portsmouth. In 1922 it was placed in a shipyard drydock and fully restored to her 1805 glory.

In 1954 Tex Kelly was severely burned in forward fireroom accident which he later died from during 1954.

During a northern Atlantic operation New hit some very rough weather which is common in those waters. There was damage to the gun tubs from the heavey seas.. These two pictures show some of the dents still in the tubs and a seaman repainting one of them.
